Members can apply to Conference travel awards to support participation of researchers from economically disadvantaged countries at ESEB congresses and the Evolution conferences of SSE/ASN/SSB. ESEB further offers Congress Attendance Aid Grants aiming to increase diversity at ESEB congresses and EMPSEB meetings.
The Society supports young researchers, e.g., by sponsoring the annual EMPSEB meeting of PhD students in evolutionary biology, by supporting lab visits and field trips, and by awarding the John Maynard Smith Prize to outstanding young evolutionary biologists.
Membership fees of ESEB are managed through Wiley-Blackwell, the publisher of the Society’s Journal of Evolutionary Biology (JEB). ESEB membership dues are paid for two calendar years and automatically include personal online access to the Society’s journal JEB.
ESEB membership fees in 2020 (region = Europe; excluding VAT):
Member, 2-year, JEB online access: 54€
PhD Student Member, 2-year, JEB online access: 36€
Lifetime Member, JEB online access: 540€ (corresponding to 20 years of regular membership)
For student members, a letter from the supervisor or department head confirming the student status should be sent to the ESEB office (email@example.com). The PhD student membership is limited to a maximum of four years.
