Objective of ESEB

The object­ive of the soci­ety is to pro­mote the study of organ­ic evol­u­tion. The soci­ety seeks to achieve this goal by, among oth­er things, pub­lish­ing the Journ­al of Evol­u­tion­ary Bio­logy, co-pub­lish­ing the journ­al Evol­u­tion Let­ters, organ­iz­ing con­gresses and sci­entif­ic meet­ings, sup­port­ing research in the field of organ­ic evol­u­tion, and fin­an­cially sup­port­ing activ­it­ies to pro­mote a sci­en­tific­ally based view of organ­ic evol­u­tion in research and education.

Remuneration policy

Board mem­bers, coun­cil mem­bers, edit­or­i­al board mem­bers of the Journ­al of Evol­u­tion­ary Bio­logy and Evol­u­tion Let­ters, and oth­er per­sons affil­i­ated with the soci­ety, are reim­bursed for their travel expenses to board meet­ings as out­lined in the ESEB bylaws. The Bylaws are avail­able at eseb.org/society/. The office man­ager of ESEB receives a reg­u­lar salary.
