The award is presented to an individual who has made notable advances in evolutionary biology and contributed to furthering ESEB’s Mission, Values and Goals.

The prize (travel, registration and accommodation to ESEB conference, within a limit) will be awarded once every two years and the recipient will be invited to give an address, at the ESEB Congress or Joint Congress in Evolutionary Biology in the same year that the award is made.
